We've tried inserting the intelligent key into the port and nothing happens.

Ok, if you look at the cover on the shifter, you should see a small piece of plastic you can remove. This should be above the gear position letters. Pop out the plastic, then take a pen cap or small screwdriver and push it into the hole. At the same time pull the shift lever into neutral. This is the manual override for the shift lock so you can get the car into neutral. You should then be able to jump start it. Leave the donor car on it for 15 minutes, then attempt to start it.
