My 2005 navara str 3 l diesel is in limp mode. It won't rev

Customer Question

Hi, my 2005 navara str 3 l diesel is in limp mode. It won't rev more than 2500 rpm and smokey.
I'm a mechanic and serviced it fr new and have 150k on clock.
I found that certain filters are not good for the fuel system and fitted a cheap version and now this problem. I have refitted the original filter as I'm stuck in a country town ATM and trying to get it out of limp mode. Any ideas?

Do you have a scan tool to check for malfunction codes .

Clearing the codes will take it out of limp mode, but you need to know what codes you have first,

If no code reader then disconnect the battery for 10 minutes .this will clear codes and take it out of limp mode .

If its bowing black smoke then you could have a MAF sensor problem, check for related MAF sensor codes .

Need further assistance with this issue then please get back to me .

Rgds Greg.
