good morning my name is ***** ***** I will assist
you need a scan tool or a laptop, a translator to the obd 2 connector which you would need to purchase, and a subscripotion to the manufacturers web site to get the information to download to your pcm.
the translator and subscription is the most expensive portion of the process at about 2000 bucks. it would make more sense to have a shop do it for you for about 150-175 bucks.
why did you replace the old unit??

Water in transmission started slipping and shifting hard I tow a trailer and 250,000 miles never had a problem with the truck instead of purchasing the rebuilt transmission I bought all the new parts from Nissan myself and had somebody do the rebuild I took it out myself I put it in myself just trying to save a total of 1400 bucksI guess I'll just take it to Nissan for 150 bucks or so have them program thanks for the response I appreciate it
