I have Altima intelligence key is not working. I only hear a clicking sound but it won't start. My brake seems to lock

Did you try putting the remote into the remote slot, and then press on the brake pedal and see if it would start?

It not locked, it's just harder to press. Can you tell me if you see the brake lights come on if you step on the pedal?

sorry Jay...I had to go pick her up. Her key ran out of power so I used the spare one and it worked

That is what the remote slot is for. If the battery ever goes dead on the remote, if you put the remote into that slot the car can be started. You can actually take the battery out of the remote and put it in the slot and the car will start.
I had no idea you were not with the car.
