hey there, did you check to see if you had any trouble codes? Sounds like a cam sensor failure, would be good to check for codes first though if your service engine light is on. let me know please.

Thanks the VIAS code here isn't really going to cause the stalling OR the hard starting issues.
For that your looking at more likely to be a cam sensor at fault.
The VIAS really just works like a swirl control valve to open up the intake runners and smooth out torque response. The solenoid could be bad or the vacuum line running to it. The solenoid is about $150.
For your problem though, your looking at likely a cam sensor that's failing.
