In removing the fuel pump from a 1994 Nissan Sentra with 1.6

Customer Question

In removing the fuel pump from a 1994 Nissan Sentra with 1.6 litre engine, a square portion of the pump seems to remain attached to the fuel tank. Is there a mounting bracket or could this just be a seizing up from contamination etc. in the tank?

Customer :

The housing holding the pump seems to be attached to the fuel tank and not removable. How do I remove the housing?

Ron :

Pinch in the clip on the housing and pull up, look at the diag I sent.

Customer :

My problem is trying to remove the fuel pump and housing from the gas tank along with the sending unit, etc.

Ron :

If you release the tab it will come up, it likely just stuck.
