Hi welcome to JA.com.I will assisted you best i can.

Have you checked to see what is missing .

Like Spark to spark plugs, fuel to injectors .

Crank engine 10 seconds and check for codes you could have a wiring problem to your

crank/cam sensors.
Or other wiring problem .

For further assistance please let me know.

Dear Greg,

The car does have fuel going through the injectors.

No codes have been thrown. Crank and Cam sensor is located in distributor and I have replaced the distributor and I am still getting a weak spark.

Hi

When was the wires and distributor cap changed ( last Tune up?)

Check all wiring connections on the engine wiring harness, they are known to get brittle.

Weak spark could be a bad ground on the distributor ,check all ground connections

this is always overlooked after an engine rebuild check remove and clean all grounds and reconnect.

Need further assistance please let me know .

Regards Greg

Dear Greg,

The wires and distributor cap were changed when the motor was rebuilt. The engine wiring harness and wiring connections are not brittle or corroded. All ground connections were sanded, cleaned and reconnected after the rebuild. Another ground was added to the engine to the body for good measure.

When I try to start the engine, it just about starts but not quite. Can you think of anything else?

Dear Customer

I'm going to get you an excellent Expert to help you out on this one

so i will opt out so he can help you .

Kind regards Greg

Hello and thank you for using JustAnswer.com

Do you know if you have any codes? also let me know what your compression is?

Let me know, thanks Jay!
Ask Your Own Nissan Question
Customer reply replied 8 years ago

Hi Jay,

Good find! The compression is supposed to be around 178 PSI but each cylinder only measures about 75 PSI. Something must have went wrong with the rebuild. Any ideas?

By the way, no codes are being thrown.

I think we are getting closer to the cure!

The only way to find out what happened is to start taking it apart again I am afraid, and recheck everything.

If you have any more questions on this, please feel free to ask. Thanks Jay!
