03 Nissan Xterra: diagnostics..couldnt find..runs fine..sluggish

Resolved Question:

I've been to two different places to run diagnostics on my '03 Nissan Xterra and was told they couldn't find a problem. Yet my SUV runs fine for a while but the longer I drive, the more sluggish it gets. It feels bogged down. Yet the guy at the Oil Changers told me that it was a converter problem with banks 1 & 2.

Any suggestions?

Hello and thank you for using

The best way to help determine what the problem may be is to monitor the Air and fuel mixture. Also monitoring the 02 sensors could help determine if the catt converters are working or not. By checking both of them, that should help lead to your problem. The Maf sensor is a possible problem.

If you have any more questions on this, please feel free to ask. Thanks Jay!

Hi Jay

Thank you for such a prompt response.

What is a Maf sensor? Is that like an oxygen sensor?
