I tried a cd in the DVD player and it sounded great

It's in the center console. The one in the glove box contains the navigation CD

Yeah, I don't work on these that much any more..

So this I am afraid is a Radio issue. Let me explain..

So the Radio has channels built inside of it and the Radio and Aux Channels are the one that has issues. The CD / DVD channel is still good. That is why it has good sound.

So the Radio would need to be either sent out to be repaired, replaced or take out the factory radio and install a aftermarket one.

Ok I would probably do aftermarket unless there is something else like a factory reset I could try first
