Customer Question

My 2013 JX 35 has a burning smell when I come to a stop. It just started and it is tolerable. But I wonder if there is something wrong. I just had my oil changed but there is no smoke or other scary indicators.
JA: When was your last oil change?
Customer: Yesterday.
JA: Are you fixing your JX yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: No the dealer performed the service.
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: I read online that this tends to occur. Maybe it is the heater now that the weather is cold?

Is this occurring when the fan is on or off vent open or close ?

Customer: replied 8 months ago.
With the fan on and vents open. When you turn the AC/heater off, the smell subsides.

Hello, Eddie here and I will do my best to help. If you open your hood, do you smell the same burning smell as inside the vehicle by chance?
