Hello my name is ***** ***** thank you for your question.

Did you check the fuses in the IPDM?

Customer: replied 11 months ago.
What is this and where do we find it (IPDM)
Expert:  Jay replied 11 months ago.

Here is a image of where the IPDM is located. You will need to remove the passenger side wiper cowl cover to access it. See link for image of location.

we have checked these fuses all seem ok
Expert:  Jay replied 11 months ago.

It's not the fuses by the battery, it's fuses in the IPDM.

Do you have a Test light?

Customer: replied 11 months ago.
we have a test light.is this where u take the battery out and it is behind there
Expert:  Jay replied 11 months ago.

What I would like you to do is check fuses with the test light. Do you know how to do that?

Customer: replied 11 months ago.
my husband did that yesterday , he can usually figure these things but this has him totally puzzled
Expert:  Jay replied 11 months ago.

Well this is what I would like you to do.

First off, to check the tail light fuse, that fuse is in the IPDM, and you need to have the lights on to see if this fuse is getting power.

If the fuse is getting power on both sides of the fuse, then you may have a internal issue with the IPDM since that controls exterior lighting.
