2004 infiniti q45 I have a loud clicking clanging sound

Customer Question

2004 infiniti q45
I have a loud clicking clanging sound coming from the car when accelerating. Once up to speed it goes away, but will come back when a load is put on the engine/drive line, for example going up a hill.

hi there,
im cam, a licenced diagnostic tech.

sounds can be a little difficult to diagnose over the computer, but it sounds like you have an axle CV joint that is defecttive.

the noise will only be under load and is usually worse when turning.
have your axles inspected and eliminate this as the probable cause

hello my name is ***** ***** thank you for your question.

It does have CV joints in the rear. they are axles that come out of the rear differential. Is this noise coming from the rear of the car?
