Customer Question

2006 g35 is hard to start & idles rough for a few seconds then runs fairly well. All sensors have been changed and connections checked. New spark plugs installed. Cleaned intake plenum.

It always takes at least 2 or more tries to start even if you kill it and start it right back up.

Hello and welcome to JustAnswer! With your symptoms I expect a fuel related issue, either fuel bleeding off through the pump when the engine is shut off or you may have one or more injectors leaking. Either will cause a hard start after sitting, and leaking injectors will usually cause the engine to run rough on startup until the affected cylinders are cleared of the excess fuel.Have you checked for fault codes?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
No fault codes. No noticeable smoking on start up.

I couldn't find a spot to connect a PSI gage on the fuel rail.

If no codes are setting then checking for fuel bleedoff with the engine cold will definitely be the next step. An adapter hose will need to be installed between the fuel line and rail, and then the gauge is connected to a test port on the hose.
