Infiniti G35 How do you check the transmission fluid level

Resolved Question:

How do you check the transmission fluid level on a 2005 G35 coupe? I see a small oil spot on my driveway. I wiped it with my finger and it looks like a redish oil. I'm assuming that's transmission fluid. I checked the regular oil level and it's ok. Any help you can provide would be appreciated.

Jay :

Hello and Thank you for using JustAnswer.com

Jay :

To check the transmission fluid you will need a 10 mm socket and ratchet.

Jay :

The dipstick is back behind the engine by the fire wall.

Jay :

It's easier to see if you remove the top engine cover.

Jay :

The dipstick is secured by one 10 mm bolt

Jay :

The car should be in park and running when checking the fluid

Jay :

If low, it takes a special type of trans fluid called Matic S.

Jay :

This can only be got at the dealer. So do not add any other type of trans fluid if found low.

If you have any more questions on this, please feel free to ask. Thanks Jay!
