Employment: We are a sports club ( Incorporated Society )
We are a sports club ( Incorporated Society ) that employee a admin/office position, 35 hours per week. Our organisation is run by an elected management committee as per our club constitution. At a meeting in 2018 the committee passed a motion that the employee would be given a pay rise equivalent to what ever the minimum wage increase was given. ( She is not a minimum wage employee). ( if it was only 20 - 50 cents / hour, as it was when this 'decision' was made back in 2018, that would be OK, but given it has become a $1.20 and planned $1.10 per hour increase this is rather large. ) Nothing was recorded in her employment agreement, there is only a committee meeting minutes. Can this motion be rescinded at the next meeting, and the employee has to remain on her current hourly rate ? … read more
