She is covered by the Consumer Guarantees Act, which says the car must be fit for purpose and they should not have hidden the dents. The car must be fit for purpose. If they do not sort this out you can bring a claim against them in the Motor Vehicle Disputes Tribunal, if they are licensed car dealers. If they dont sort this out then she can ask for a refund of the deposit
