Employment: We are a sports club ( Incorporated Society )
We are a sports club ( Incorporated Society ) that employee a admin/office position, 35 hours per week. Our organisation is run by an elected management committee as per our club constitution. At a meeting in 2018 the committee passed a motion that the employee would be given a pay rise equivalent to what ever the minimum wage increase was given. ( She is not a minimum wage employee). At that time the committee had no idea that there would be a Labour govenment that introduced an unprecedented large minimum wage increase in April this year, and plans on the same in April next year. Can this motion be rescinded at the next meeting, and the employee has to remain on her current hourly rate ? … read more
