I have a younger brother and him and his friend (18),
So I have a younger brother and him and his friend (18), unknowingly entered into a tenancy agreement where they have now found themselves surrounded by some very hostile people and in a very undesirable enviroment. Now the agreement they've entered was fixed term, but we have now found that the fixed term ended in Feb so the agreement is now periodic. We have tried to give 28 days notice for each of the boys but the agency is now telling us that the entire group needs to give notice for them to get out of this contract. To me this seems extremely unreasonable as the two boys did not engage with the contract at the same time as the others. There are 5 tennants in the apartment all together. Is it fair to say that if they all agree on giving 28 days together, then the 3 remaining tenants will be able to resign the fixed term with 2 new tennants, before their 28 days is over?
