Friends. Our son is insolvent. We know this because we know
Our son is insolvent. We know this because we know his circumstances very well. Fortunately he is still working but he has had to take a 20% salary cut because of Covid19. He has zero assets and a credit card debt that has topped out. In the week before Covid level 4 kicked in he made a fixed term agreement with his landlord to rent a large house in Epsom Auck with a weekly rent of over $1000. Intention was to take in Korean students (his estranged wife is Korean) and rent out the rooms to cover the rent. He needed to have a place in Epsom so that their daughter could stay at EPsom Girls Grammar. Covid squashed this idea and there is no likelihood of the situation improving for at least a year. He has about 10 months before the fixed term rental agreement axpires and he knows that he must now take action to prove to the tenancy tribunal that he is insolvent and urgently needs to terminate rental of the large house ans seek a studio apartment for himself. … read more
