I have got married in India in 2008 and I came here in
Hi I have got married in India in 2008 and I came here in Newzealand in 2013 along with my partner and she came here as a student and I came here as a dependent visa .Due to dependent category- in 2017 I have got my Residency .But things were changed a lot and she decided to separate from me .she called her parents from India and they said to me that I can leave home. I left home. After that I applied my Permanent residency as a single person. My father has died -(cancer) and I got stuck in India due to that and lost my job .Then I applied for MSD Job as my partner was working with that but I got opportunity in Wellington due to tenure was very short and was secondment she convinced me to come back to Auckland and drop her for few days and due to covid 19 situation I tried to help her but when I came back home she totally changed her attitude and said she will never ever give me divorce and needs money for divorce.I was really shocked to know that she was thinking like that way beacause when we seperated there was no balance was due still I was keep on paying her 2 years internet bill. Now she is needs money and said she will not give divorce untill I will not pay her 20000$. Other wise she will file false complain in India and NZ as her uncle is a crimanal lawyer in India. Her mother keep on calling my mom (she is half paralysed and taking few other medicine like bp ans sugar). I dont want to lose my mom due to our fight. we have seperated more then 2 years and I dont want to continoue this relationship. My partner said she has already filled life threat against my mom and my brother. What process i need to follow now and to get rid of this. … read more

I have been given a letter by my employer regarding Annual
I have been given a letter by my employer regarding Annual Leave entitlement regarding the Covid19 wage subsidy. It outlines what my employer will reimburse me which is only part of what we were told to take. On Thursday 26th March staff were called into a meeting and then each of us had a one on one. I was informed that the GM had determined that during lockdown, I had sufficient work to carry me through 5 days. No discussions were had so not certain as to how this was the conclusion. I was then informed that I needed to put in 13 days of annual leave. I was not given time to review this and at the end of the day, I felt that my hands were tied and we were put into a situation that we had no choice. We never received anything in writing either although I did ask for it. Our contracts state 14 days notice is supposed to be given and I understand these were extenuating circumstances. I haven't signed the recent letter as I have issues with the opening line of 'in line with recent discussions ...' as no discussions have been had. I was informed today that if I didn't sign the letter that I would not be reimbursed for the 47.14hrs (what has been calculated from the 13 days) yet no where on the letter does it state that if I don't sign it I won't get it. My question is, what are my rights? I have reviewed the Wage Subsidy website and have noted that 1. Employers cannot unlawfully require named employees to use their Annual or Sick Leave, Leave without pay or other leave entitlements. 2. Being asked to use leave entitlements or any other changes to employment agreement terms cannot be done unless the changes have been discussed with you in good faith and are in writing. Can you please provide some guidance as I am in a bit of a crisis because I am being pushed into a corner and made to feel like an idiot because of how this situation has been handled. I am not alone in this but most staff have signed under duress. … read more
