I have engaged a builder to construct a residential
I have engaged a builder to construct a residential investment property. It is nearing completion and disputes are starting to arise over extras. The builder says if I don't pay his claims he will caveat my land title. Can he do this? I need to mention that there is a section in our contract that he can lodge caveat if I refuse to pay for more than 7 days. So now because of an invoice that was sent to me a few months ago at start of the project and because I wasn't agree with and I discuss that with him verbally, that the invoice he has sent me is not reasonable and over claimed, I didn't pay it at that time but agreed with him to finalise it as per contract when the final inspection passes.
