You can bring your notes and documents with you, and refer to them in cross examination if needed and provide a copy to the court if requested. If you have filed an affidavit, you will be allowed to refer to that under cross examination

The family court is more relaxed about hearsay evidence, but in the end it is the weight of the evidence which is important, and evidence which is only hearsay may not have much value for the judge. You can bring your notes to the court room, but you would not be able to read from your notes but just refer to them to refresh your memory. Of course your primary evidence is the affidavit which you swore, so you will be just answering questions by way of cross examination and you won't have to remember the full details of the affidavit, although you could ask the judge if you need to refer to the affidavit, and they will let you do that

It really just means you cannot read your notes – but you certainly can refresh your memory by looking at the documents. It is usual to ask permission from the judge and that is not generally a problem
