I requested to change some English money to NZ dollars through the HIFX money transfer system. I requested that 35000 pounds was changed into NZ dollars on 31st July at 20.59. I received an email with a contract telling me how much I would have to transfer to the UK branch of HIFX. My bank would not allow me to transfer more than 30000 pounds and so at 21.07 on 31st July I replied to the email with the contract stating that I had to cancel the request. I did not see the notice stating that it was an automated email However neither did I receive a return email stating that the email address was not monitored. HIFX now want me to pay 787.86 pounds as the pound increased in value when they saw that I had to cancel the money change. … read more
