Purchased caravan late December. In time of inspection

Hi, purchased caravan late December. In time of inspection points of old damage were pointed out and looked to be in good condition. The sellers knew that the caravan was going to be used to live in with children. We were in process of moving out of house so didn’t move into caravan till day 6. Only to find Major leak and water damage to far corner of caravan where master bed is. This was concealed at time of inspection as lady was “cleaning” and had mattress leaned up so she could clean storage under bed. We contacted them straight away and they refused to refund. They refuse any knowledge but have had several different stories from them that don’t add up. And know after consulting with specialists on repairs it will cost us over $10000. We brought caravan for 19500. We want our money back.

The leak and damage is bad. Wall is soft and damp. 19th December when money was transferred. We made contact with them 6 days after.

No as it was over holiday period we realised the damage. Only yesterday were we able to make contact with repair specialist. We had reported damage to seller on day 6 of having it. Have phone records.

I know they only owned the caravan two weeks prior to selling to us. They have said they lived in it, so they would have known about damage. On our first contact with sellers was through their business number as we wanted to rent. Rung citizens advice brearau and they advised us they are not a registered business.
