My husband aged 67 was caught drink driving 493. his last offence was 37 years ago. What would be his likely sentence please.

He will most likely be treated as a first offender since the last offence was so long ago. The normal sentence is to be disqualified for driving for 6 months, and to be fined. The fine can depend on his ability to pay, but would be in the region of $500 to $1000 plus court costs of $180. He can ask for time to pay the fine and would need to see the court collections department after he is sentenced to make arrangements to pay
