A friend has a Gold Master Card debt that goes back to July 2011 there has been no correspondence until 25th January by EC Credit Control threatning "Possible Legal Action Pending" is this legal and is he still liable

The limitation period for a debt like this is 6 years from the date of default, which is under the Limitation Act. So this is within time and he should negotiate payments if he can do so
