Customer Question

Hi. My grandfather passed away on 26.06.2015. I called WINZ on 06.07.2015 to request to have his superannuation payments stopped.
On Dec 29th 2015 his wife, my grandmother, received a bill from winz of
$5, 926.62. The request she pays this back.
They continued making payments to his bank account. They did not action our request to have payments stopped.
We were unaware payments were still being made due to his accounts being frozen from time of death as he did not leave a will.
I am about to write to the Benefits Review Committee on behalf of my grandmother to request the debt be written off. Do I have any legal legs to stand on in doing this?

Did the payments go to a joint account? Is the money still in his account?
