VerifiedYou can see the lawyer with your son even if he applies for legal aid. You should discuss diversion with the lawyer if this is his first appearance in court. This may avoid a conviction but the apology is useful in the process. The legal aid lawyer should be good enough and you can help him with an application before Friday by going to the court and asking for the legal aid officer
You should also start with medical reports on his condition, although you may not get those on time for Friday. But the judge may want to see those and copies of any apology letter. Anger management courses may also help and you can tell the judge he is doing this.
