I took 7 days off work unpaid end August start sept this

Customer Question

Hi there. I took 7 days off work unpaid end August start sept this year. Now I am told that I do not get paid the full 8 hrs for stat days because of this. I was paid 6.21 hrs for labour day, is this correct?
Thanks Lesley

That is incorrect and frankly a bit petty. The entitlement to payment for statutory holidays is not affected by taking leave, paid or unpaid and your employer is quite wrong. The Holidays Act doesn't mention this time of reduction and your employer is simply wrong.
