Customer Question

Hi I am a NZ citizen working here in NZ but employed by a company based in Australia.
Our Unit in NZ is closing down and I am being made redundant. I have no redundancy clause in my contract.
Am I entitled to redundancy based on Australian law?

The law which applies is New Zealand law, which does not provide for redundancy as of right. You should however try to negotiate something although under NZ law all you can get is the notice period and holiday pay.
