My partner's brother was detained last night by immigration

Customer Question

My partner's brother was detained last night by immigration at Auckland airport. He is a Malaysian citizen ans was expected to enter on a tourist visa. What can I do to get him into the country.

Do you have any knowledge why he was detained? At the border like this, Immigration can decide to reject entry and there is no right of appeal. Sometimes there is a misunderstanding about entry and he could be released. But if he had anything illegal on him they will return him home. But there is nothing which you can do at this point and he would need to return and sort out the reasons back home and if possible reapply.
