I am in a quandry. I have signed a form that has put my name into A Global Map Index thinking it was to do with Google search,. Now I am being charged $850 Euros for three years..Global Map Index File No.600.282 Invoice No.600.282.01 Is this legit and how do I cancel this as I have already tried in writing but it has not been accepted. Here is the letter to date Dear Ms. Kelsey Roderick, We have received your email dated 5th May 2015 thank you. Our order form has reached you by post together with a cover letter in which you were asked to check your existing free basic entry on our website www.map-index.com and what was printed on the order form. We also brought to your attention that you had the possibility to place an order for a paid publication in the Global Map Index website. Our cover letter explicitly instructed you to use the form only for the purpose of placing a chargeable order and we quote “should you wish to have an enhanced, chargeable entry, please use the enclosed order form.” In regards ***** ***** order form itself, the text printed on the top section of the form includes the following statement: “Sign only when you want to place a chargeable order according to the below mentioned conditions." Furthermore, the text comprising of the terms and conditions of the order was clearly headed “Order” in bold, with the price outlined therein. If the assumption was made that our form was related to a Google, then it appears that the information provided was not read with due care for which we cannot be held accountable. As per the text on the top section of the order form clearly states: “The Global Map Index is indepen­dent and not associated to any other map producers.” Since the 10 day cooling-off period was not taken advantage of, the order placed can only be cancelled in accordance with the terms and conditions outlined on the order form. Your order has been honoured and processed. The provided particulars are now published on our website as per your request. If changes or additional elements are required, we will make the necessary changes at no additional charge. Here was my first letter

Dear Sir / Madam

I wish to advise the following.

On signing a form with Global Map Index this year I was not aware this incurred an annual fee as I understood it was a free publication and was part of Google search map or Domainz NZ who have my company name registered in their database.

I have never received any information about where my business name is ***** ***** Global Map Index or how you were notified about my salon as I have never asked for these details to be ordered as an entry in your database.

 I was surprised on receiving your invoice dated 20-4-2015 that I have been billed for an amount as I considered these details listed were part of a worldwide organisation with Google or Domainz and that I was not liable for any

further contract payments.

I was never aware on signing the form that I was signing for a three year period or that I was obligated to payment terms of 897 Euros per year as I understood I was already listed in Googles search engine and this was what I had signed.

I did not understand that Global map Index is independent of the above.

As I am a new small owner operator business I am unable to continue with this publication as I cannot meet the proposed contract fees and this publication has no benefit within my local business area in Hawke’s Bay NZ.

My apologies for any misunderstanding but I wish to terminate any contract at once and cancel this publication immediately.

 .They also put in photos I hadn't requested which is not in accordance with my branding and put it under Beauty Salon not hair salon..also I am in NZ so its not beneficial in anyway for local business. They also didn't give me time to see this in hard copy & online and enough time to cancel..Hope you can help. Thank you
