While it may not be their policy to refund, the act says they must if you do not want a replacement. They cannot contract out of the act, and where you are unhappy with their replacement refund is the next option.

I took my phone to a third party repair shop as i turned it
Hi there, i took my phone to a third party repair shop as i turned it off and it wouldn't turn back on. they advised me if they fixed it that the face id ( that was working prior) would no longer work so i told then not to fix it, just put it back together. They went ahead and fixed it. so again i told them that is not what i wanted. they then took it apart again and put it back together with the original parts ( or so i thought). I then took my phone to an authorized apple repairer and found out the third party repair shop done a lot more damage than anything else. this is from their report: Device has multiple components unplugged. Multiple screws and components missing from unit. Many flex cables dont line up with MLB. This points to either MLB or components being swapped out of iphone. unexpected markings on MLB. and the serial numbers no longer matched to the phone. so essentially they've stolen parts out of my phone and replaced them with parts that don't fit and damaged the parts the were left in there.
