christhelawyer : In this case the only hope would be to leave voluntarily as you have exhausted the range of options. After refusal of the interim visa there is nothing which can be done as this cannot be appealed. I am sorry I cannot give better news

I wasn't rejected an interim visa.
christhelawyer : Your question says you had one which expired and the section 61 rejection is there too. Did you discuss an interim visa with the new lawyer?

No I have not, is this possible?

So there is very slim chance for a student visa application to be granted under this section?
christhelawyer : There is no chance and I would not want you to get your hopes up

I know someone who was granted a student visa under section 61. Doesn't it depend on how strong my case is?
Customer:
I also have been dating a New Zealand citizen for 2 years, we do not live together but we have been dating for two years and are serious. We don't have much evidence though, just photos and witnesses. Is there a chance that would improve my chances in my application?
christhelawyer : The problem is that you do to currently have a valid visa so if you wanted to apply as a partner you would still need am interim visa because you cannot apply for another visa unless you have at least a current interim visa
