christhelawyer : The Consumer Guarantees Act does not have a particular time limit, although of course as cars get older they do deteriorate. So there is a balance between fair wear and tear and defects. In your case this appears to have been a persistent problem, which they have not managed to fix however. In my view, if this has been a similar or even the same problem, then you should not have paid anything for the repairs, if this has been a long term issue. This is not sufficiently serious to entitle you to retune and get a refund, but I do think they should repair at their cost.
