You can make an application under the Family protection Act to look again at the will and your share. This will be very likely to change and increase what you get under the will as it seems unfair in an obvious way. I would suggest you consult a lawyer and get a claim made-often in cases like your which are obvious, the sensible thing is to settle without a court hearing. So getting a claim started tells them you are serious and will need to consider this.

My initial research indicated this course of action if necessary tho I hope to mediate a fairer agreement with my brother. Is one lawyer as good as another or should they be specific experts for a better outcome?

You need someone who is familiar with this proceeding but it is not difficult and there are a reasonable number who have undertaken this work. The lawyer will not mind if you ask if he or she has done much of this kind of work.
