4 years ago I approached a helicopter engineer to rebuild an armature built helicopter for me. His acceptance to do this encouraged me to purchased the machine from South Africa and imported it to NewZealand.. I subsequently purchased the machine and imported it into the country. On arrival the engineer promptly stripped the machine down. Shortly after engaging in the rebuild the Kaikoura earth Quakes happened an my engineer was asked to help a helicopter maintenance base with the maintenance of the helicopter fleet that was servicing the earth quake recovery. I fully under stood that my machine would take second place to the earth quake needs but since then which is incidentally is over 3 years I have found it impossible to get the engineer to do any thing on my machine. He invoiced me and I paid over $15,000 some time ago for work he had done but since then just flogs me off and seems never to commit to actually spending any time finishing my machine. Is there any action I can take as I am getting to an age where my flying career is nearly over and I would never have brought the machine if the engineer had not committed to me to get it serviceable. Hear soon … read more
