The law has not really caught up with technology is this area. The real difficulty can arise when you sell the recording or even make a copy for someone else. There is no law which stops you watching the show on your computer however

In other words as long as we use the downloaded series for home use (which we do) then there is no problem? I am not really keen to pay a $15 000 fine
The recent amendment to the Copyright Act is concerned with file sharing, which is where the $15,000 fines can be imposed. If you down load for your own use this does not contravene the Act-it is only triggered when you give the downloaded material to other people

Greetings I bought an accessory for my rifle online in the USA last week. A friend is travelling down from Seattle and will bring it with her - I hope. For her assurance I ran the item by customs. I believe Customs have wrongly categorised my item, which is a mounting base for a scope. It does not fit the definition of a gun part '- as described in the Arms act (link attached) specifically the Section 2 referred to by the officer. I can send brief correspondence if you want.
