I am ACC advocate for a client that had her jugular vein pierced right through to the carotid artery in a failed attempt to insert a haemodialysis tunnelled catheter it was repaired by a Vascular Surgeon who said it was the first he had seen in 20 years as a surgeon to access the catheter which was in the aorta a cardiothoracic surgeon did a sternotomy and ACC paid $100 for a taxi to Auckland Hospital for a follow up with the Cardiothoracic Surgeon who provided access but did not do the repair work.
