Cyprus is a member of the Commonwealth and therefore under the New Zealand High Court rules, judgments of other commonwealth nations can get registered in the High Court of New Zealand and if they are judgements of a superior court of that country an application for registration can be made under the Reciprocal Enforcement of Judgments Act. So if the bank goes to this trouble they could, although you can resist the application in some circumstances. Once they obtained a New zealand judgment, then they could get access to your assets. It is in my experience rare for foreign banks to go to this trouble, but the possibility exists.
