VerifiedThis claim sounds bogus. A quote can move by about 10% to continue to be reasonable, but unless you agreed to this sort of uplift the claim is exorbitant. I agree with your approach, that the amount to offer is the hours actually worked. He cannot demand payment like this unless there is a contract which says this. Your approach is sound and I would offer this as you suggest and see what he says.
