VerifiedProbate is just the process of formally proving a will and getting the executors properly appointed. The Registrar makes the order rather than a judge-Rule 27.14. That is all that means in effect. If the will is defective you can apply for Letters of Administration with Will annexed-it is really much the same as Probate in effect-that is Rule 27.25. Sometimes the will does not properly identify trustees or is otherwise partly unclear. It may be that is what happened here.
It sound as if you making a claim under either the Family Protection Act or thr Testamentary promises Act out of the estate. The will is normally where the distribution is described, and if you are unhappy with the terms of the will you can, if you are eligible make claims under the above Acts. there are time limits for making the claims. If you have a date of 18 May that appears to be a court date. If you need a referal to a lawyer who could look after this please advise.
