Customer Question
Hello. I have syrixmyelia...

Hello. I have syrixmyelia stretching from t3-t11 and 4 mm thick at t7. It used to be only 2 mm thick and only stretching from t10-t11 until a car accident where I twisted hard in my theorasic area. Can a hard twist to the spine in a car accident cause the syrix to grow and become activated into growth cause of the trauma?

Doctor's Assistant: Do you keep personal medical records to help track this?

Yes. First MRI was a year before accident with no discomfort and didn't even know syrix was there. Next two MRI over 2 years following show insane growth and now have massive problems with pain, sensations and numbness including my gait and walking

Doctor's Assistant: Anything else in your medical history you think the doctor should know?

I have minor scoliosis so I realize the syrinx is probably genetic or such just wondering if the trauma in two car accidents could have stimulated its growth so quickly. I also have a disc protrusion in t7 osteotype.

First accident a year after my first MRI noted the tiny syrix in t10-11 I pit maneuvered a van in order to avoid tboning another vehicle so I swerved really abruptly and hit another car at 80 km/h and then a year later got rearended. 2nd, 3rd MRI show the increased syrinx. 4th MRI shows it stopped growing and no chari formation either.
