Twice within the last week I've awakened with my left hand

Customer Question

Twice within the last week I've awakened with my left hand and arm swollen. I am concerned because I have a fistula in that arm and am worried that there might be a problem with it.
JA: Any recent injuries? How long have you been dealing with the swelling?
Customer: no injuries. Twice in the last three days
JA: Anything else in your medical history you think the doctor should know?
Customer: stage 4 kidney disease and spinal arthritis

Hello I'm Dr Chip

How long does the swelling last?

And when was your fistula last used for dialysis?
