Hi there,
This is Dr Basu, experienced Internal Medicine Specialist.
I am here to address your concerns and provide great service.

Yes it can. Pituitary gland controls all other hormonal glands in the body. The tumor can make it induce other metabolic hormones like cortisol, growth hormone making weight loss a difficult proposition.
Her cortisol, HGH levels should be checked. Also T3 is prescribed in case of thyroid hormone deficiency. T3 can boost appetite and also may interfere with weight loss.
Best wishes,
It was my pleasure to help you today.
