Im sorry to hear about your situation. There are several treatments available for blockage in the carotid artery. Now the treatment depends on the extent of the blockage.

1) if the blockage is under 50% then usually medical treatment is the course of action which would include using anti platelet agents like aspirin and clopidogrel along with cholesterol lowering agents like statins

2) if the blockage is between 50-70% then depending on the case, the patient can undergo either placement of a stent to open up the artery or even undergo carotid endartrectomy which is a procedure in which the artery is opened up and cleaned out of the debris.

3) if it is greater than 70% and less than 95% then carotid endartrectomy is the best option for treatment.
