my feet and shins feel like they are on fire - I had hip replacement surgery 2 1/2 weeks ago - is that what is causing it - I have a slight case of shingles also - what can I do to stop this annoying condition - my feet and shins are not hot to the touch, but they feel like they are on fire - can you help me.

Thanks for the question.

This can be neuropathy.

You need to call your doctor.

A problem in the lower spine [pressure on the cord] can cause this.

you can not fix this on your own.

This can become serious.

There are medications, such as gabapentin, which are prescription.

But you probably need an MRI of the lower spine.

We can not examine you, and I even suggest you visit the ER at this point.
