my left leg I have had over 10 surgeries on. I broke my ankle in 1999 and since then I have had multiple surgeries. I live with cronic pain and live on pain pills. I want my leg amputated and see a surgeon in a couple of weeks. What can I tell the doctor to help him agree with my descion to amputate my leg while I still have health insurance

Decision of amputation is totally dependent on viability of your limb or if there is no chances of recovery .

So pain is not considered only while deciding for amputation .
