Customer Question

I have tingling in my right arm. And pain in my shoulder. My right arm is red. I have been going to PT for my lower back for a work injury. But it was the left side of my lower back. I have also had 2 epidurals. Depromedrol. But the pain in my shoulder is unexplained. I am a smoker. Have been for over 35 yrs. I have read that shoulder pain is related to lung cancer
. my right arm is colder than the left. I just wonder if it's related to my degenerative disc disease, the shots they gave me or lung cancer.

Hi there,
This is Dr Basu, experienced Internal Medicine Specialist.
I am here to address your concerns and provide great service.

Cold sensation and tingling do suggest nerve involvement.

Given that you do have disc disease, compression of the lower cervical root nerves can cause radiating symptoms.

Nerve conduction and EMG study should confirm that.

Physical therapy should be tried.

MRI scan of the cervvical spine also recommended.

Neurosurgeon should be consulted with.
Best wishes,
It was my pleasure to help you today.
