Customer Question

Is labyrinthitis common? My 67 yr old brother had been suffering from spinning, ringing in his ear, dizziness, sometimes Nassau/ vomiting. He has had vision issues-eye crossing, hearing issues. This has come/ gone routinely over the past yr. He cannot drive and has found it incapacitating at times. He also has stiff neck/ vertebrate issues as well, but thinks those two 1st separate issues. His regular Dr. Has not been much help. I put his symptoms in searching, and larbyrinthitis popped up. He read it and said these are his exact symptoms, he was feeling like he was going crazy. Your input would be appreciated. He lives in a small town. I read that neuro otologists specialize in these symptoms, but don't see that title anywhere here.

Laryrinthitis should have resolved after this time.

He needs to see a regular ENT

There should be ear/nose/throat doctors.

This can be

inner ear

brain problem [tumor would need to be ruled out]

heart rhythm problem [serious]

auotonomic nervous systeme problem.

Ear can be ruled out by ENT

Go over this list with his doctor.
